I never took your last name

I think I knew I would never marry you

But I loved you as much as I could just the same

Maybe you were too good for me

But know that during that short time, you consumed my every vein

And our little love was real and I’ll never forget

The way we played our own simple game

I think there is a kind of romance in mortality

Even if I never took your last name
